blog post 3 (6/10/25)

I just came back from my very first trip to Mexico :3 I've always wanted to go since I was little, since, well, I'm Mexican and both of my parents were born & raised there, but my dad never gave me permission to go. Somehow though, this time everything lined up perfectly.

It was very sudden, but basically some uncles of mine (my mom's cousins) were going to throw a party for their mom in Mexico, so they asked my uncle (my moms brother) to help them drive. My mom's brother agreed and told my mom about it so she could ask my grandma if she needed anything. And then my mom called my dad to tell him and he said that me and my sister could go.

So that very day (Thursday [the last day of school]) my mom asks me and my sister if we want to go to Mexico on Friday (the very next day). I jump at the chance since I've always wanted to go and this was the perfect timing, but my sister decided to stay since it was so sudden.

We went on a 2 day drive and then I got there and surprised my grandma (she didn't know I was coming) and saw a lot of cool stuff and met some family I hadn't met before/in a long time. I was only there for slightly less than 2 weeks but I still saw a ton of stuff, I went to the Mummies of Guanajuato Museum, a tour of Guanajuato, we went to this church in San Juan de los Lagos, went to el Mirador in La Piedad, and most importantly I got to see and get to know where my parents grew up and lived :3

I just got back this past Sunday (6/8/25) and honestly I'm already thinking about my next visit. Hopefully I'll be able to stay for longer, and hopefully my sister and cousins will be able to be there too.
